• Lite gear such as short and top combinations are usually worn during warmer temeratures, although colder temperatures or frequent training make a Breathable steamer a good option. Our Titanium-lined suits are the warmest and most flexible because they are thinner without sacrificing warmth. Hard-wearing neoprene (such as our Vortex and Viper models) are best because they can take a thrashing at the beach. Our Lite Vest and Neo Shorts are the standard for warmer temperatures. Rash Shirts are nice and lightweight for warm summer conditions, and have a UV rating of SPF 50.
• In cool water you will need either a Glued and Stitched or a Breathable steamer (Overlocked or Flatlocked) depending on how much you feel the cold and how long you'll want to stay in the water. The lower end of these temperatures needs a Steamer—probably Glued & Stitched, or a breathable suit with a Titanium Hot Top underneath; while in the higher end of 18ºC you could wear a short sleeve (S/S) steamer, spring suit, or if you are lucky enough to surf in warm sunny conditions, a pair of boardies or watershorts combined with a top. Suits with plenty of stretch in the arms/torso (such as the MAX or Viper models) are the most comfortable to swim in—the Viper has superstretch in the arms only, while the MAX has superstretch throughout the entire body. Mesh panels also help eliminate drag in the water.
• Our 0.5mm Titanium range offers a close fitting stretchy option good for warmer waters, and is a great option if you want to transform a Breathable suit into something warmer for those colder temperatures.
