Seventhwave ambassador Jack Entwistle sure has been getting around the last few years. First Thailand (this blog has the amazing pics)
, then Norforlk Island. Now he's blazed a trail across the Northern Hemisphere:
First of all I traveled to Waikiki, Hawaii to do the China Uemura Longboard Festival which ran for 3 days. I didn't make it in the Pro division but I was surfing against some of the top Hawaiians, including last year's World Champ Dwayne Desuto, Kai Sallas and a few other rippers! But I also got to surf in the Open Mens. The conditions were very tough with only 1-2 ft inconsistent waves, however the comp was so fun and everyone was really nice—it had the best vibe, so I will definitely be back next year after getting 2nd in the Opens.
I then flew to the US Open Of Surfing to work in the Athlete area for Hurley. Sick experience with many stories—got to surf Trestles and also shot the pier at Huntington Beach... stoked.
Then flew to Costa Rica and surfed there for a few weeks, then got on a bus and crossed the border of pain. Walking and carrying a 9'6 boardbag with two boards across a border which is 1km long isn't the easiest and most enjoyable thing to do, but was worth it as we got pumping waves in Nicaragua. Best food, sickest waves, awesome little towns to be discovered, and really friendly locals. Overall it was a sick trip and included the best beaches I think I've ever been to.
Here's some great pics from his journey. The first three are from Norfolk Island, a very rarely surfed location.
